We will visit 12 historic manor houses – from the luxurious Cesis Castle Manor with its New Castle to the romantic Valentina Manor or “Florida”, whose surroundings reminded its contemporaries of an American resort. You will learn about the strict rules of the Berzaine Gymnasium, the gallows of Jurģi Manor and the precious white clay of Gluda half-manor.

Cesis Cultural Heritage in Urban and Digital Space
A fascinating tour of the Old Town of Cesis!
During the route you will have the opportunity to discover successful examples where cultural heritage has been reborn – Vanadzins House, Bidenrott House, Conrads Quarter, Old Cesis Hospital, Lielā Kaleju Street, Līvu Square, Fovelin House and Rīgas Street.
In contrast, Pionieru laukums, Harmonijas namas, Fābera namas and Smilga sanatorium make one wonder why sometimes development plans stop and the historic environment slowly disappears from the city.
